I had so much fun making this recipe with my boys. We made it super simple by using prepared pie dough and salted caramel sauce. Even with those additions this is by all accounts a homemade pie, just so much easier.
As much as I am a sweet lover, I’ve never quite fallen for traditional buttercream cake frosting. There’s a really fine line between thick sugary goodness and well -- yuck. There isn’t a lot of wiggle room.
